Painting a Guitar Hero Xplorer - Part II

….

So you’ve mastered the art of spray painting and it’s all dry now. The can says dries to the touch in 15 minutes. You’ve proceeded to put 5 layers on for good measure and let it dry while you went out for lunch and errands. Great! Now for the fun part, reassembly.

That’s where the photos come in handy, or mental photos for geniuses. But seriously, this is really easy to reassemble. At one point the spring came off the whammy bar and I freaked out. Turns out it took me a whole minute to reattach the thing. Replacing all the screws and getting everything back into place was cake. Patience is key in situations like these.

And wa-lah. You got yourself a new paint job and you’re ready to go shred.

In the end, I’m a bit disappointed in my color choice. I was really planning on a midnight wine but it ended up being a dark red. It looks just like the freakin’ red SG from the PS2 guitar hero. I should have gone with a purple or teal. Something crazy and unique. Oh well, another time, another project.

Out.
